0430 - Minesweepers Crest. 2001.
I got this off the Internet and it was only a small picture.
....
0431 - HMS Brinton. 1966.
Looks nice.
Try sailing on her.
0432* - Falmouth Harbour. February 1966.
We were the only ship to put to sea at nightfall. Out in the Channel we acted as crash boat for the Sea King helicopters from HMS Culdrose
as they practiced night time sonar bouy dunking whilst hovering 50 feet above the water in the dark. Dangerous work for them.
0433* - Me on HMS Brinton. Falmouth. February 1966.
The ship's bridge.
Not the best place to be at sea.
0434 - Me sat on the stern of HMS Brinton, English Channel. June 1966.
Ah! Peace at last.

....
0438* - Dartmouth. May 1966.
Probably the worst place in the world for a run ashore.
Officers training establishment close by, that's why. Too many toffee nosed erks.
0439* - Rock Salmon. Falmouth. June 1966.
Tasted alright and you can't get fresher than just caught.

0441* - Strange Fish. (Garnet?) Falmouth. June 1966.
Didn't eat this one.
....
0442 - HMS Brinton is scrapped. 1967.
A sad end for any ship even the Brinton.
But she really was clapped out and we traded her in for HMS Clarbeston.
0443 - HMS Clarbeston. 1967.
A fraction better than the Brinton.
This ship only leaked a little.
0444 - HMS Aurora an Anti submarine Frigate, English Channel. July 1970.
Got this picture off the Internet.
The powers that be had turned the Aurora into a radar picket boat.
0445 - Cap Talleys.
Been there! Done that! Got the 'T' shirt. HMS Flowerdown was definitely the best English posting
with HMS Inskip a close second. No special cap talley for Inskip so as we came under HMS Victory for pay we wore that one.
0446 - Cap Talleys.
Best posting abroad was Cape East that came under HMS Afrikander in South Africa.
HMS Jufair in Bahrein came a close second.
0447 - REM Badge. At 1200 dpi.
Not the best stitching in the world but the navy accepted it.
Worn on the right arm.
0448 - Leading Hand Badge. At 1200 dpi.
Worn on the left arm.
....
0449 - RN Tapestry.
The ideal badge for HMS Collingwood the navy electrical school.
....
0450 - Mensa test result. 17th March 1967.
Wasn't interested in taking the full test as I took the unsupervised test (by MENSA) supervised by a naval officer.
I followed the test instruction to the letter and KNEW that whatever the result it would be pretty accurate.

0461 - Trade Certificate. Front.
In spite of what it stated the unions just didn't want to know.

0462 - Trade Certificate. Back.

0463 - Pre release Vocational Training Certificate. 10th March 1967.
It passed away the last four weeks of navy life.
Better than sweeping the barracks or working in the galley etc.
0464 - Kathryn at 14 Brodick Road, Blackburn. Summer 1968

....
0465 - Kathryn at 14 Brodick Road, Shadsworth, Blackburn. September 1969.
Kath had fallen and hurt her shoulder and it looked like it could have been dislocated.
My first aid training came to be of some use after all. Caused great amusement at casualty.

Can't do very much with small photographs.

0469 - Mum. 197?
There is a limit to what you can do with a small photograph.
